GND - Christmas Speshul '18 - "Tinsel Trouble III"
Tinsel Trouble III - Sarah & Jareth's situation resolves, they mention Liz's Ex & Jadis before Christine returns with treats for Erik.
Pika's text:
Ob-la-dee, ob-la-dah, life goes on~
Well, wrapping this mini-arc up way past its seasonal due date....
Yes, his nice speech about Safe Sane and Consensuel notwithstanding, Jareth absolutely factored the Fail-field into the equation when he chose not to take advantage of the tinsel mishap, and the first draft of this idea definitely involved an ill-timed poof and a suddenly crowded closet space.....
(although the girls have in fact established a sensible "text ahead" rule for usage of the Paris crystal, because it is a matter of principle and consistency in their apartment rules: NO UNANNOUNCED POOFING IN (*all the shouting and pointed glares at His Nibs*). Except Christine is at a fancy champagne party with Raoul and got a little drunkenly-spontaneous.)
Thanks to everyone who got invested in this little storyline!

oh, and also, A Note From this Author - paying my respects to the gallant dead and the veterans of the War on Christmas -
I'm aware, and a mite contrite about, how fully these pages embrace the whole WASP-y traditional Christmas thing like it's a universal experience and values set, and how that can leave some people feeling quite indifferent, to alienated. I'm sorry not everyone can always enjoy the same flavour of escapist fluff and squee. And actually, I do suppose a more serious and played-straight Fae Goblin King would in fact have more of an affinity to the older midwinter rites.... (as some lovely fics have dealt with....) But my GND-specific defense is gonna have to be the Jadis connection, and those themes being very present in that "moralizing Edwardian children" canon; also, as a Henson creation, Jareth is close kin to one of the über-Christmas movies. Please pardon [my cultural imperialism subjective and limited frame of reference] tropes.
