Buffy Summers
A Vampire Slayer. Buffy was chosen to battle the vampires and demons that walk the earth. She saves the world a lot.
Where is she from?
Buffy is the main character in Joss Whedon's Buffy The Vampire Slayer, a concept that never seems to get tired because in it's most basic format it just takes the basic misogyny inherent in a lot of fiction and flips it on it's ear, and that never, ever stops being great.
Buffy first happened in the 1992 film by 20th century fox by husband & wife producer/director team Kaz & Fran Kuzi, based on Joss's script. It's pretty tongue-in-cheek goofy and Joss isn't a HUGE fan of it, but it certainly has glimmers of what's so great about the premise. If anything, it seemed like the producers just didn't quite have a handle on representing teenagers. Kristy Swanson played Buffy, and while she wasn't quite the Buffy that we'd all go on to adore, she put her own little spin on the character...
...but of course, if you're talking about Buffy you're talking about Sarah Michelle Gellar. The series ran from 1997-2003 and completely redefined what TV SHOULD be. Buffy is hands down one of the top 3-5 characters to ever show up on a TV screen. If this show isn't one of your all-time favorites then we can't be friends.
