Ewoks
A race of tribal warriors from the forest moon of Endor. Their similarity to teddy bears is entirely incidental.
Where are they from?
The Ewoks were characters introduced in the 1983 movie Return of the Jedi. Wicket, the primary Ewok, was going to be played by R2-D2 actor Kenny Baker, but when he got sick George Lucas chose 11-year-old Warwick Davis, and extra, to take the role.
The 1984 TV movie Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure featured a pair of spaceship-wrecked children having adventures with the Ewoks, who now seemed to have nightmare-eyes.
The animated series Star Wars: Ewoks ran from 1985-1986, and featured the continuing adventures of Wicket & his fellow Ewoks, who now had far more dramatic gender differences for some reason.
